On Saturday, April 1, we had our final half-day retreat of the school year. Because it was Saturday, we were able to participate in the First Saturday devotions available at Holy Redeemer Church. A portion of the group met for Mass, rosary, reconciliation, and prayer for Pope Francis. We met up with everyone else at the Campus Religious Center for breakfast (breakfast pizza and yogurt parfaits) before another rosary and then the small talks with discussion.
It was a beautiful morning, spent together as community, growing in our personal relationships with Christ as well as with each other. We listened to the SEEK23 keynote speakers from Day 3: Sr. Miriam James Heidland SOLT and Father Joshua Johnson. As we have heard in previous sessions, we were reminded that Jesus wants to meet us where we are. We don't have to be perfect to be worthy of encountering Christ. As we prepare for the coming Holy Week, as we walk with Christ through his Passion and death, and into His resurrection, it is a powerful reminder we just need to show up.
It is hard to believe we are already reaching the times when we are at the "lasts" for the school year. 2022-2023 seems to have flown by! Half-day retreats will resume in the fall, when classes start back up.
Thank you to Abbey, Celia, Elaina, Emma, Luci and Olivia for spending a Saturday morning with us!
